Describe how you plan to manage space,
materials, equipment, the movement of people, and the standards-based lessons
(e.g., using the Common Core Standards) that are part of your curriculum. Provide specific examples.
How will you address the needs of students
with special needs? (FEAP a.2.h/FPEC 7.4/InTASC 2f.p, 2l.k,3e.p) Because I understand that there are students
with exceptional needs (disabilities and giftedness), I will use strategies
accordingly. There are services and resources that I can access to meet their
different learning needs. Accommodations and modifications will be made to
provide them the same learning opportunity as the other students.
How will you address the needs of students who do not speak
English as their first language? (FEAP a.2.h/FPEC 7.4/InTASC 2f.p, 2l.k,3e.p)
· Use visual aids often.
· Incorporate hands-on activities to demonstrate concepts.
· Allow sufficient wait time.
· Model spoken language, but refrain from embarrassing them with
verbal correction in front of others.
· Prepare outlines for lectures and distribute to ELL learners.
· Encourage skim and scan reading strategies for textbook assignments.
· Avoid forcing language learners to speak. Encourage them to
contribute when they are ready.
.
How will you address the needs of students
of varying ability levels? (FEAP a.2.h/FPEC 7.4/InTASC 2f.p, 2l.k,3e.p)
Differentiate Instruction that provide
several learning options, or different paths to learning, which help students
take in information and make sense of concepts and skills.
How will you address student interests, learning
styles, and multiple intelligence? (FEAP a.2.d/FPEC 2.4, 7.1/InTASC 2d.p, 2j.k, 2m.d, 4m.k, 10q.d)
Teaching strategies will be built upon student’s
interest, prior learning, their ability as well as their learning styles.
Instruction will be provided through different formats such as videos,
lectures, note taking, and chants. Different approaches such as whole group and
small group instruction will be used as well.
How will you convey high expectations to
all students? (FEAP a.2.c/FPEC 2.3, 2.4/InTASC 3f.p, 3l.k, 3q.d)
Expectations will be appropriate for the
grade and/or ability levels of the particular students and their subject area.
Expectations will be effectively communicated so that the students will readily
apply them to instructional activities and events during the lessons and to
assignments and tasks both in and out of the classroom.
How will you model clear, acceptable oral
and written communication skills? (FEAP a.2.e/FPEC 2.5/InTASC 8h.p, 8m.k, 8q.d)
Speaking and writing will be done in a way
that would be expected of the students. All communication will be easily
understandable for all students.
How will you integrate current information
and communication technologies? (FEAP a.2.g/FPEC 2.7/InTASC 3g.p, 3m.k, 8g.p, 8o.k, 8r.d)
Set up a class wiki that is easily accessible
by all students. Use of the smart board to model research skills. Use of a
document camera to display exemplary student work. Interactive lessons through
the smartboard to keep students engaged.
How will you vary learning experiences
that help students to work as self-directed learners and as collaborative
learners in pairs or groups, both face-to-face and virtual, who are respectful
of diverse social and cultural perspectives?
(NSU a.2.j/FPEC 1.9/InTASC 3b.p, 3h.p, 3i.k, 3o.d, 3p.d, 5g.p)
I will promote responsible learner use of
interactive technologies to extend the possibilities for learning locally and
globally. I will intentionally build learner capacity to collaborate in
face-to-face and virtual environments through applying effective interpersonal
communication skills.
How can you promote thoughtful and
responsive interactions with students and colleagues that promote shared values
and expectations for interactions through collaborative and self- directed
learning? (NSU a.2.k/InTASC 3c.p, 3r.d)
By
collaborating with learners and colleagues to develop shared values and
expectations for respectful interactions, rigorous academic discussions, and
individual and group responsibility for quality work.
